The St. Kilda football club was formed in 1873 and played at the “Alpaca Paddock” next to the present site of the St. Kilda bowling club. This was the suburb just 6km from the Melbourne CBD. In 1965 they moved to Moorabbin, in 1993 they moved to Waverley Park, in 2000 they moved to their present home of Telstra Dome (then Colonial Stadium).
